Daylight saving time 2022: When do the clocks change?

In the DST world, things are about to move on, baby.
Daylight saving time 2022 falls on Sunday, March 13, so be prepared to put your clocks forward one hour.
- LISTEN: Pennsylvania lawmakers seek to end ‘jumping forward, falling back’ clocks during daylight saving time | Today in Pa.
According to History.com, the practice of moving clocks forward or back has only been around in the United States since the early 1900s (1918, to be exact) and has nothing to do with helping people. Farmers: The practice was actually put in place as a way to save energy during World War I, which Germany implemented first and other countries followed.
Time goes on to explain how the concept of daylight saving time existed before that, however, with a Briton named William Willett preaching the idea across the country as well as a way to use natural light to its fullest so save money by relying on artificial light.
(The same History.com article, by the way, refers to the fact that many point to Benjamin Franklin as the originator of the idea: he isn’t. He was okay with that, though! )
However, in recent years the love has lost out for the practice: a number of state lawmakers, including some right here in Pennsylvania, are seeking to do away with daylight saving time altogether, claiming that it benefits negatively to people’s health.
Nevertheless, daylight saving time remains and those going out on Saturday March 12 will unfortunately lose some sleep.
Don’t forget to put your clocks forward on Sunday, March 13.
